This housing authority project involved the interior renovation of townhouse-type dwelling units that had been vacant for as long as several years.

The units were located at two separate sites, one constructed in the 1940’s and the other in the 1970’s. Some of the townhouses needed fairly straightforward repairs and refurbishing, but most required more extensive work. One unit had been the site of a kitchen fire, another had burst piping due to a boiler vandalized during cold weather, and five had suffered serious water and mold damage and had been left unheated through multiple winters. The scope included removal of asbestos-containing materials, demolition of damaged components, miscellaneous framing, new kitchens, bathrooms, interior finishes, lighting, and for most units, and new energy efficient heating systems and water heaters. The contract documents were based on the master product list and specifications developed for the housing authority by O’Riordan Migani Architects.
